We are running an Open Day on Saturday 12th September 2026 starting at 10:30am. The event will run for two hours and will feature use of lifesaving equipment to rescue people from the sea. There will also be basic line throwing training as well as an opportunity to experience the Inflatable Recue Boat (IRB).
After a difficult few years with the enforced closure of the Lifeguard Station at Cold Knap, the voluntary club is now setup in its new base by the slipway at Watch Tower Bay. As such, the Club has now opened its membership books again and will be looking to recruit new members during the Open Day.
The Club would not be in this position now without support from the Vale of Glamorgan Council, Barry Town Council, Sports Council of Wales, Rhondda Rotary and Welsh Water and we thank them all for that.
Interested in beach lifesaving, then please come and join us on the 12th September 2026.
